How should you configure irrigation under West Kelowna's live rules?

West Kelowna's canonical outdoor-watering page currently marks Stage 3 as in effect, with even-numbered addresses permitted on Saturdays and odd-numbered addresses on Sundays. Treat the live page as the operating source because the City can change the stage or publish a new notice. Record the page date, civic address, control type, and current day before changing a timer.

The City's water section distinguishes its outdoor-watering regulations from watermain notices, billing, and water-service information. That distinction matters when an irrigation problem is a broken private component rather than a rule question or public service interruption. Use the right City page for the right handoff.

West Kelowna distinguishes automatic time-clock systems from manually controlled sprinklers. Hand watering of gardens, planters, plants, shrubs, and trees is treated separately from lawn sprinkling.

Strata and large properties also need a property-specific check. A unit with its own irrigation control may use its unit number, common areas may follow the complex street number, and a large property may have a split arrangement under the City's conditions. Do not apply a single detached-home schedule to every zone.

The current Stage 3 page prohibits filling or refilling swimming pools, hot tubs, garden ponds, and decorative fountains. The City lists some exempt users and activities, including agriculture, fire protection, sports fields, cemeteries, spray parks, and specified surface preparation. Those entries do not automatically create a homeowner exemption. Confirm the exact property and use with the City before relying on an exception or changing a contractor scope.

New lawns and landscaping may have a limited establishment allowance, but the City says the allowance is bounded by the stage and by a fourteen-day period immediately after installation. Before a contractor reprograms the system, inspect for leaks, broken heads, overspray, runoff, pressure problems, and stuck valves. Put the stage, address basis, control type, zone changes, repairs, exception, source page, and next review date in the handoff. Recheck the page after a stage notice rather than leaving the timer on autopilot.
